Virginia is committed to prioritizing protection of vulnerable homeless populations and the staff that serve these Virginians. Governor Northam announced funding to keep homeless populations sheltered during the pandemic, including a new hotel and motel option in combination with new shelter guidance.

The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) has created a COVID-19 quick reference guide for Virginia's homeless shelters, as well as hotels and motels that are being used as temporary shelter for the homeless population. Click here for access to the reference guides.
